TEACHING PRACTICE

Teaching practice is an important component of becoming a teacher. It grants student teachers experience in the actual teaching and learning environment.During teaching practice, a student teacher is given the opportunity to try the art of teaching before actually getting into the real world of the teaching profession. Teaching practice creates a mixture of anticipation, anxiety, excitement and apprehen­sion in the student teachers as they commence their teaching practice .

  As part of the two year B.ed curriculum i had to pursue my teaching practice during the third semester and fourth semester.I had chosen St.Thomas Higher Secondary School ,Kadampanad for my teaching practice. I have been given plus two commerce class for the teaching practice. plus two commerce class comprises of 53 students out of which there are 20 girls and 33 boys. I had been given business studies for teaching and two chapters were alloted to me to teach. The chapters are 'Entrepreneurship Development' and 'Consumer Protection'.

 Teaching practice for fourth semester was done as two phases. The first phase of teaching practice started  from 12 November 2018 to 7 December 2018 and the second phase started from 3 January 2019 to 25 January 2019. I had been instructed to complete 30 lesson plandring the fourth semester. 

 The experience of teaching in a school is impossible to explain  in words. Its a mixture of anxiety, excitement, happiness etc.

During this week i as able to take around nine topics which included importance of consumer protection,legal protection to consumers,features of consumer protection act ,consumer rights,responsibilities of consumer's,redressal agencies-district forum,state commission,national commission.During this week there was a counselling class for the the higher secondary students by Mrs. Remya. This was a good session for the students,since adolescence is the period of immense change and the need a proper guidance. Students also actively participated in my class for all the activities conducted in the class.
